Pola Museum of Art

This museum emphasizes the harmony between nature and art in Hakone. It also boasts the largest display of impressionist paintings in Japan. The collection consists of more than 10,000 pieces, with works from the world’s most renowned artists such as Monet and Renoir. There is also artwork from Japanese modern painters, glasswork, Asian clay artwork, and cosmetic items on display. Make sure to walk by the Japanese beech and tall stewartia trees that grow along the forest promenade in the back of the museum and listen for the chirping birds. Visitors can appreciate the many sculptures that blend in with the natural landscape.
