This is a Japanese sweets (wagashi) shop located deep in a bamboo forest. At this shop, you can savor extraordinary wagashi sweets, such as dorayaki (red bean paste sandwiched by two pancakes) made with local ingredients such as eggs from Gotemba. Although you can get your order to go, we recommend enjoying your dessert with sencha (a type of green tea) out on the terrace. The sencha tea leaves used at this shore are grown in the neighboring green tea field. Next door is Higashiyama Kyu-Kishitei (Former Kishi Residence), once a residence of the former prime minister Nobusuke Kishi that is open to the public. After indulging in some delicious Japanese sweets, admire the traditional Japanese architecture, and relax at the the residence's ever-changing garden.
