Amazake-chaya Tea House

Amazake-chaya Tea House was founded 400 years ago and is a relaxing place where visitors can rest. Their amazake (sweet rice wine) is made with a recipe that has remained unchanged since opening. The amazake is non-alcoholic, and has a gentle sweetness yet contains no sugar. Even babies can drink it! Their menu has also remained unchanged and includes dishes such as mochi (rice cakes) that are handmade every morning, or Miso Oden with warm konjac steeped in miso to heal the fatigue of travelers. There is also a tatami mat room in the tea house where you can relax by taking your shoes off and stretching your legs. Spend a moment at ease at this traditional wooden shop.
