Restaurant Tamura Ginkatsutei opened in 1973 and stands out thank to its traditional Japanese architecture. Tofu Katsuni is their top recommendation. It is a masterpiece of domestic minced pork sandwiched between specially ordered tofu from Gintofu, Gora’s famed tofu shop, that is deep-fried, simmered in an earthenware pot, then topped with an egg. The sweetness of the scallions and onions are brought out by the smoked mackerel dashistock, and the entire dish is amazing with rice. The restaurant may become crowded after 12:00, so it is recommended to visit at an earlier time. Please note that they use a ticket system in which customers are issued a numbered ticket from the automated reception machine at the front of the restaurant and then wait to be called by number.
