Kanazashi Woodcraft

Kanazashi Woodcraft is a parquetry specialty shop that exhibits and sells the works of traditional craftsman, Katsuhiro Kanazashi. Parquetry is a wooden handicraft that involves detailed geometric designs by combining woods with various colors and textures. It is a well-known, traditional Hakone handicraft. The parquetry made by Mr. Kanazashi using his own original methods and designs have won numerous awards. These award-winning works are also exhibited in the shop. A trial class for making coasters is also given at the shop. You can bring home your own original parquetry work as a souvenir.
