Hakone Kowaki-en Yunessun is best described as a hot spring amusement park. The facility is divided into the swimsuit area, and Mori no Yu, or the hot spring (onsen) area where visitors enter the water Japanese-style, without any clothes on. After entering, visitors can decide on the area they’d like to relax in (you can also purchase a ticket for both areas). The most famous attractions of the swimsuit part of the facility are the outdoor onsen water slide and the many unique onsen tubs, including a “real coffee bathtub” and a “wine bathtub.” Inside is a shopping mall where you can find Hakone souvenirs and limited-edition goods, restaurants and lounges that will help you have an enjoyable day. There are rental towels and swimsuits available at the facility (separate fee), so you don’t have to worry about bringing any luggage when visiting.
