HOTORIYA is a café that is traditionally Japanese yet has modern sensiblities. Souvenir shops carrying traditional Japanese foods such as kamaboko (fish paste) and umeboshi (pickled dried plum) are located on the first floor. You can also sample some of the food in the shop. After stocking up on souvenirs, head up to the café on the second floor for a complete view of Lake Ashi and Mt. Fuji. Recommended dishes include the HOTORIYA Special Curry Fillet Cutlet, HOTORIYA Special Pancakes in an Iron Pan, and the Honjin Dango (rice cakes) that you grill yourself. How about resting at a window seat while gazing out onto Lake Ashi?
