The cable car rises 211 meters between Gora Station and Sounzan Station in virtually a straight line, covering the distance of 1.2 kilometers between the two points in approximately 10 minutes. The degree of incline is visible if you look down from the seats at the back of the cable car.

Priority seats

Seats
All seats are on a first-come, first-served basis. There are no reserved seats. Priority seats designated for use by seniors, mothers-to-be or persons with disabilities are provided. Please give up your seat to passengers in need. Please also turn off your mobile phone when in the vicinity of priority seats.

Staffed ticket gate
The ticket gates at Gora Station and Sounzan Station are staffed. Go through the ticket gate by showing your Hakone Freepass or ticket.

All stations other than Gora Station and Sounzan Station are unstaffed. They also have no ticket vending machines, so when boarding, make sure to take a boarding ticket indicating the name of the station where you boarded from the boarding ticket dispenser at the station entrance.

※ At stations (unstaffed stations) along the way, the doors open on both sides
Please get off after confirming which side the facility you want to visit is located on. At Naka-Gora Station and Kami-Gora Station, there is no passageway for crossing the track, so please make sure you exit from the correct side. If you wish to cross the track, you may cross through the car while a car is standing at the station.

Ticket vending machines at Sounzan Station

At Gora Station and Sounzan Station, you can buy a ticket from a ticket vending machine. Check the fare chart and buy your ticket by paying the fare required to get to your destination.

※When boarding at stations without ticket vending machines (unstaffed stations) along the way
At stations without ticket vending machines, take a boarding ticket indicating the name of the station where you boarded from the boarding ticket dispenser at the station entrance and buy a ticket from the conductor in the first car before getting off.
