How do I use the ticket gate? |

| The ticket gates at Hakone-Yumoto Station are automated. To enter or exit, insert your ticket, if it has black or brown magnetic backing, into the slot in the ticket gate. In the case of tickets with white non-magnetic backing, please present your ticket to the attendant at the station counter. At stations without automated ticket gates, the station attendant or the conductor will take care of your ticket. |

How do I pay for fare adjustment? |

| At Hakone-Yumoto Station, fare adjustment machines are available. At stations without fare adjustment machines, pay the adjusted fare at the station ticket counter or to the conductor on board. |

What should I do to get on or off at an unstaffed station? |
 |

If the station has no ticket vending machine, board the train and buy a ticket on board, or pay the fare at the station where you get off. When getting off at an unstaffed station, the conductor will collect your ticket. If your ticket is not collected, please place it in the ticket collection box at the station. |

I arrived at Hakone-Yumoto Station aboard the Limited Express “Romancecar” from Shinjuku. How should I transfer to the Hakone Tozan Train? |

The train from Shinjuku arrives at Hakone-Yumoto Station on platform 1. Across the way are platforms 4 and 5 for the Hakone Tozan Train. There are two platforms in use for boarding, so please follow the station attendant’s directions.

How do I use the bus from Hakone-Yumoto Station? |
 |

Buses leave from different bus stops, depending on their destinations. The bus stops for buses bound for Kami-Hatajuku and Moto-Hakone Port (via the Kyu-kaido) and for Odawara are on the near side of the station after you exit the ticket gate.
The bus stops for buses bound for Kowakien, Moto-Hakone Port and Hakone-machi (via Miyanoshita and Kowakidani) and for Sengoku and Togendai (via Miyanoshita and Miyagino) are across the road and are reached by turning left after exiting the ticket gate and using the underground passageway to cross to the other side.
