All seats on the Odakyu Hakone Highway Bus are reserved, so you must obtain a seat ticket beforehand. If there are unoccupied seats on the bus, you can ride without making a reservation ahead of time. In that case, you can buy a seat ticket aboard the bus.

How can I get off the bus?
The board at the front of the bus shows the next stop, so when your stop is indicated, press the button to let the driver know you want to get off. Stops are announced on board the bus, so you can also listen for the name of your stop.

All seats are reserved, but if there are unoccupied seats, you can buy a seat ticket aboard the bus. In that case, seats are not designated, but if a passenger with a reservation holds a ticket for the seat you are in, you are requested to move to another empty seat.

Sorry, no smoking is allowed.
Are priority seats available?
There are no priority seats. All seats are reserved, and if all seats are full you cannot ride on the bus unless you have a seat reservation.

You can use the Hakone Freepass within designated zones, but only if there are unoccupied seats on the bus. In that case, please show your Freepass to the driver when getting on or off the bus. For travel outside of designated zones, an additional seat ticket is required.
How can I buy a seat ticket?
Reservations can be made starting from 10:00 on the day two months prior to the departure date. Tickets can be purchased starting from 10:00 on the day one month prior to the departure date at any of the following: the Odakyu Highway Bus office (on the first floor of Odakyu HALC at the West Exit of Shinjuku Station), any Odakyu Line station, Odakyu Travel Agency branch offices, Atami Hakone Tozan Hire’s Gotemba office, Hakone Tozan Bus’s Sengoku office, Hakone Tozan Bus’s Togendai office, Hakone-en (in the Hakone-en Shopping Plaza) and at the Odakyu Highway Bus Gotemba Interchange office.
